Welcome to Afterlight, a human/vampire/werewolf role-play. It is loosely based on Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, but if you haven't read the books that's okay. There are no canon characters here, and the setting is the town of Lamdon (a little like Forks ;3). We currently have a plot in motion; click here for more information.
Plottage, plottage, plottage. <3

::Quite happy that everyone was liking how her cookies looked, Razor blushed and went up onto her tip-toes then back down to flat feet a few times, like whenever she did when people were pleased with what she had done.
"I did, actually. Help yourself, please. I hope they taste alright..." she added quietly while pouring a green glass full of eggnog and handing it to Inu. Lieutenant Razor was the kind of gal who had trouble focusing, especially when she was baking. Often her deserts would get an extra cup of flour or be altogether missing the sugar, and other errors like that. Since the platinum blonde suffered from diabetes-phobia, she never first tested her creations before she gave them to others because of all the sugar in them. Razor was irrationally terrified of becoming diabetic, and over the last year had weeded out all of her unnatural sugar consumption and was working on eliminating most of her natural sugars.
Noting Ama's out-stretched hand, Razor hopped over and warmly shook it. She loved handshakes, and didn't understand why more teenagers didn't greet each other this way. One of the five major reasons she couldn't wait to be an adult was that she would finally be able to shake hands with as many people as she wanted without them thinking she was trying to be too formal or act older than she was.
Out of the blue, a funny-looking dog approached the group. The tallish female looked this way and that, but didn't see it's owner. It seemed friendly enough, however.
"Well hi," said the lieutenant, rubbing it's soft head. It was at this moment she realized that she was an idiot; she had invited werewolves to this party. More than likely this was one of them in wolf-form, and more than likely she had probably just embarrassed whoever it happened to be by treating it like an animal.
"Uh, so glad you could make it," said she quickly, trying to cover up her mistake. She ran down a list in her mind of who this might be. The only werewolves she knew well were Zetsumei and Ianos and she would have just invited them, but thought it might be rude, so she had felt obliged to invite their entire packs. She had waited on Zetsumei once, during that brief time when she was working at her uncle's restaurant while half of his staff had the flu. It was near the end of her shift, late at night. One of the creepy men in the party not far from her was seated were getting a little too forward, and Zetsu had gotten up and yelled at them all. Since she was just a customer, she couldn't get in trouble. Razor was so thankful for what she had done that she said she'd pay for the meal herself. The two got to talking, and eventually became friends. The lieutenant fell in love with the alphess's strong will and fiery personality. She couldn't wait to see her again.
This was obviously not Zetsumei. Vaguely Razor remembered her saying something about her creepy little stalker, a little girl with pink hair. This wolf was pink; it was probably the same werewolf, but for the life of her, Razor could not think of the name.
"Do you have a change of clothes? You can go inside and rummage around for something if you'd like," she offered before becoming distracted by another arrival.
"I'm so glad you both could make it," smiling Razor said to Deidre and Yorick.
"And Deidre, what a cute dress!" she added. A little spark of jealously appeared in Razor's brain before going out, like a match that is struck but doesn't catch fire.
"Will Damocles be joining us?" she asked either one of them. She knew that he was a busy man that didn't even know her, but Razor had invited him anyway so that he wouldn't feel left out. While waiting for a response another entrance took away her attention.
Since they had taken no precautions with their wardrobes and were shining like two rainbow suns, the hostess couldn't quite tell who they were.
"No, you're right on time. Please, come have a seat in the shade," she said to the mysterious couple, eyes shut tight against their brilliance.::
::With his vampire senses, Bern Sigismund knew who it was approaching right away.
"Craven, Heidi," said he, pale face completely filled with a smile. He stepped over to where they had entered and squeezed Heidi's hand tightly. Though he wouldn't show how he was feeling, as displays of affection seemed silly and far too open, he was quite glad to see the both of them.
"How have you been? How are things?" Bern asked. He knew things were going well because of their 'no news is good news' policy, but it would be nice to hear that for himself. He also wanted to know the little things, the trivial ones that seem so insignificant, because those were the things that the vampire cherished. He knew he was being rather impolite by leaving the group of humans he had just met to go be with his coven, but he would return to them soon enough. First he wanted to catch up a bit.::
::They were nearing the place. Razor normally lived in an apartment in the city because she generally liked being close to people and interacting with them. However, everybody needs space, and so her house was located way out of town and a good distance away from others. Her neighbors were a quarter-mile away. When Feather's parents pulled up in front of a blue house, Joelle wrinkled her nose.
"Pale blue? I was expecting something brighter," she commented to no one in particular.
"Thanks a ton, Mr. and Mrs....Uh, Guys. I really appreciate it. Here, for your trouble."
She set the stolen umbrella up front, between the two adults.
"Ciao!"
Jo hopped out and skipped up to the door. She squinted in the light, bright even through her sunglasses, and read the sign. She could hear voices coming from the backyard.
"C'mon, let's go!" the pink-haired fae called back to the artificial red-head.
"I can't wait another minute for Christmas!"::

::"Eurydice? Orpheus' nymph wife?" Anya asked the girl in the back.
What an unusual name. She wondered what significance it held; what reason her parents had for giving her that title. Anya didn't really remember the Greek myth; but had once known it quite well, when she learned it back in fourth grade. After the words left her mouth so regretted them, since here in America she wasn't trying to be a brain, but to be normal and have a normal, fun, American life. She could just pass it off as having an interest in Greek and Roman mythology though, as long as she didn't say anything else nerdy.
Orpheus who? Ianos was thinking to himself. He had no idea what this girl was talking about. Eurydice wasn't married, was she? He brushed the Cheetos dust off of his hands and grabbed a bag of potato chips. He had completely forgotten to offer some to the two humans, not that either of them would have taken any anyway.
Feeling quite intimidated, Daisy made herself as small as possible in her seat and zipped shut her lips. She already regretted getting into this van. Everyone seemed nice enough, she was didn't like being at their mercy. What if they weren't really driving toward Ivyton at all? What if they were taking her far, far away? Not even aware she was doing so, Daisy popped one of her mannish hands into her mouth and began biting away at the barely-there nails.
Rauros looked into his rear-view mirror and sighed in relief. The bitches hadn't tried to follow him. That was good. Allowing himself to smile, the male leaned back in his seat and turned up the radio. Static-y Billy Joel poured in, and in an off-tune, scratchy voice the werewolf began singing along. It never occurred to him that perhaps instead of fighting, the she-wolves had wanted to ride with him because they too, were going to...whatever her name was' house. Why would she have invited rivals, after all? You could only be friends with one side.
"Oy, quit hogging the grub, kids," the driver called back to his passengers.
Ianos threw the bag, now mostly empty, up toward his older brother. Disappointed that the Cheetos had already been eaten, Rauros tossed it back without first looking where he was throwing. It hit Daisy in the face. Anya laughed.
"You alright?" she asked.
Daisy smiled and nodded, her face burning. No, it hadn't hurt, but she was upset that her penpal's reaction had been to laugh. She feared this was going to be a long ride.::

"Eeeek!" Inu exclaimed happily; every year, without fail, she got so overwhelmed in buying presents for other people, and decorating, and parties, and whatnot, that when it was time for her to recieve presents, she was utterly shocked. Yes, it wasn't actually Christmas, but she was still surprised and excited to find that she would have some unwrapping to do later on. Inu loved hugs, and returned Ama's with more squeals of joy. She patted her friend back, then stepped aside so that Ama could dash off and greet Razor. She managed to commandeer the eggnog with a, "Thanks, Razor", before happily sipping away at it. She had no idea what was so good about the drink, but she probably total any amount of it without a second glance.
All of a sudden, very sparkly strangers showed up. Inu stopped squeaking, and shuffled over to Kami, who was also shy, and began to pet Bella out of nerves. She had to admit, the sparkling was amazingly awesome, as was the little girl's outfit, but she didn't like to say so until she had gotten used to their presence. Even then, she probably wouldn't speak; she had a tendency to mess up conversations. She was close by when the funky-coloured wolf-like canine showed up, and exclaimed, "Ooo," while trying to resist the urge to smother the poor beast in petting. Raor beat her to it, and then welcomed the guest. That reminded Inu of the werewolves that were supposed to show up. "Oh!" was her gasp of realisation, followed by a huge grin at the werewolf. Inu wasn't as shy around animals, and was quite happy to introduce herself to something four-legged and fuzzy. "I'm Inu," she said, wondering if the wolf would change or not. She supposed that the creature would not magically reappear clothed, and just then Razor offered her the house to change. She supposed that introductions would happen once the werewolf was in human form.
Feather burst into excited giggles as they pulled up in front of the house. "Thanks, see ya later," she bid a childish goodbye to her parents, who were looking reasonably relieved to have the two girls out of the car, but somewhat alarmed as they couldn't see all the guests. Feather gave them no time to request following her in, however, and after grabbing a plastic container of cupcakes from behind the back seat, she trotted off after Joelle.
Humming Jingle Bells, Feather walked around to the backyard, where all the commotion seemed to be coming from. Quite a lot of guests were there, including some very sparkly, beautiful people, an emo girl with a kitten on her head, a geeky-looking girl in purple, a hyper girl with long hair, some guy who looked like he walked out of a gym, a very funky-looking dog, and Razor herself. "Hallooo!" Feather called happily, prancing over to Razor. "Merry Christmas!" she exclaimed, awkwardly offering a hug while still holding the container. "I brought food," she informed Razor, lifting the lid to reveal a mound of vanilla cupcakes with a large, sloppy amount of white, red, and green icing on them. They were all dusted with sugar to match the icing, and looked quite delicious, but very messy indeed.
"Thank you," Deidre smiled at the compliment, and reciprocated, "The decorations are lovely," She let Yorick answer the other question, before being distracted by two new vampires. One looked about Yorick's human age, but the other was a little girl, looking absolutely adorable in a dress. Deidre wondered what it was like to be immortally frozen as a young girl, and thought it must be frustrating to be patronized by humans, and the like. "I'm Deidre," she introduced herself to them, although they had probably already heard Razor.
"Unforunately, Damocles is being a bit of a Scrooge," Yorick replied with a polite smile. "He sends his regards, though," he added, just so that Razor would not take offense at Damocles' pigheadedness. It really wasn't personal at all; Damocles was just not a social kind of chap. Yorick looked around as two new vampires appeared. "Yorick," he introduced himself after Deidre, wondering if they belonged to a coven or not. They seemed a bit of an odd pairing, but then again, all the guests were a little odd in their own ways. Bern seemed to know the pair quite well, so they must be nice enough.
A little more concerned about the state of her clothes, which were rather expensive, and looked damn good if she said so herself, Dione folded them into a bag. She then grabbed the straps in her teeth, which had suddenly become fangs. The rest of the transformation into a lean, black wolf commenced, and she darted after her cousin. Although she wasn't a very docile pack member at all, some things were just so deeply ingrained into her werewolf mind that she couldn't help it; for example, instead of leaping ahead of Zetsu like an excited puppy (which she wanted to do), she followed at her Alphess' tail, in a subordinate way.
Eurydice beamed widely at Anya, "Exactly," she chirped, glad that somebody else in the world knew their mythology. She liked this girl with the strange accent, and not just because she seemed to be a nerd, too. She just seemed likeable, unlike the odd, quiet girl she had brought with her. Eury wasn't giving her much of a chance, but Daisy didn't seem to want one anyway. Giggling at Rauros' indecisiveness, she missed the actual landing of the chip bag into the girl's face. She figured that Anya was only asking the girl if she was alright because she wasn't speaking. Eury wondered what exactly she was so afraid of.

It took only a second for Bella to go nut's at the sight of a canine. Bella was a very strange cat, she wasn't afraid of dog's... she wanted to play. Ookami set her kitten down on the ground. At first her tail was the same size as her body. She calmed down enough to start mewing non stop at the canine. Kami's eye's widened. That was no normal dog, it was a werewolf. Even though it was small there was no way a normal wolf could be pink, blonde, and black. Her thoughts were confirmed by Razor's comment. As un-normal as it was about to sound Kami emitted multiple bat-like, and inu-like noises and sounds. There was a werewolf right infront of her. And her cat was playing with it. Kami threw herself at the wolf and wrapped her arms around it softness. "You so sooooooft" she whimpered.
A lop sideded wolf grin appered on Zetsumei's maw. Part of her couldn't wait to get to the party. Razor would be there of course. Her other side, the... more dark one, hoped to see Rauros there. And Zetsumei had a special gift for Ianos if he were to be there. It was tucked safely away with her clothing. "Were getting close" she thought to Dione. The scent was getting heavy, Razor was there, there were vampire's there, and there were humans. Once there was a clearing visable Zetsu slowed to a stop. Ever so gently she snapped the string off her ankle and threw it up in the air. Within seconds it was being gripped by her human hand. She rumaged through the bag and pulled all of her clothing back on. She stuffed the bag and it's last item in the waste band of her pants. "Well Dione, shall we enter" she stepped out of the forest with a grin. Light flooded into her eyes and bright party things were held in the arm's of humans. Quickly, she adjusted her hair. "Why hello humans, vampires" she nodded with a smile.
Being the overly shy girl she was, Nami concealed herself by the table behind some other guests. Nami was not a fan of chirstmas, that was the day her parent's were murdered. Since it was June is held no relevance to thier actual death but she was still upset. That is, until she saw Craven. She was about to run over to him and hug him, but there was a young girl with him. "She must be Heidi" she thought. She just looked over in his direction and waved shyly, hopeing he would notice.
Melody's little auds perked attentivly as she listened to Razor speak. She had no problem remianing in wolf form, but that might cause problem's for the vampire's later on. She was about to run off the house and find somthing to wear when someone attacked her. She would have fallen over if it was anyone unhuman... but she did not. Without even looking she pityed whoever just hit her, she must have felt like a wall. Attached to her was a small human girl, she looked emo. Melody was over joyed by the affection she was reciving. "It might just be better to stay as a wolf" she told herself.
Then the Inu girl introduced herself. Melody's tail wagged quickly, little girl still attached. "I'm Ookami" she muffled into Melody's fur. So she had found Inu, and Ookami without even trying, sweet. She rubbed against Inu's leg and somehow managed to pry Ookami free. She trotted into Razor's house in search of clothing.

Kaleb loves parties. Not your average gathering ones though, the one were you get drunk out of your mind and end up engaged to a man when you wake up two days later. Today Kaleb decided to go with Damien, considering he had a car.
Pulling the car into Razor's house was no problem. Damien had found the house easily, he just followed everyone's thoughts. Once he had the car neatly parked he stepped out. He wore a black tux and dress shoes. He might as well come looking nice. Diedre was going to be there after all. He was accompined by Kaleb, the tall, smelling of smoke, werewolf. He follwed the sign's advice and went around back. Thats when the thoughts got a little loud.
There was a sudden twist of pain to Damien's face. "Any killer's" he asked with a sarcastic grin. Sure Damien was his friend, but he was a vampire, surely thoughts couldn't hurt him that bad. Kaleb followed him around back and stood in awe. There were so many females. Damien had somehow convinced him not to smoke at all today. Now that he thought of it, he considered Damien as a role model, almost like a brother. He frowned and walked into the crowd.
The fad is thin and small. Like cell phones, MP3 players... and MEN! The time for short men is here!

It took me about 2.7 minuets to realize who I had just introduced myself. Or what, would be more like it. I stiffened, from the seizure I was trying to hold in. Can't look like a fan girl, can't look like a fan girl! The vampires would surely think I was weird if I started shrieking like I wanted to. With a deep breathe I calmed myself. Now knowing what they were I couldn't act normal. My face was red, and I don't think that was exactly the best thing....
"Umm.... I have to... Uh, ummm... go... uh, over there." Pointing towards Inu, I escaped before I could further embarrass myself, or insult the vampires by mistake. I sidled up to Inu's side listening to her conversation. How could I be soooo lame! At least I hadn't screamed. Though inside it felt like I was.

Crap. Why did he have to ask how things were. Of course he had too, it was polite, and Burn was never impolite. Why? I had hoped to postpone it. Not lie, just not tell him first thing. I didn't think he would be mad, but I didn't want another person pittying me. I knew Heidi was glaring up at me. 'Hahaaa! I hope he gets mad. You deserve it.' She was probobly thinking something along those lines.... That wolf in sheep's clothing.
It was then that I noticed Nami. She looked awkward, and shy... she was so cute. I zipped on over to her, and let her back to my Coven. If I was going to tell him I should also introduce her. "Nami," I said, "this is my coven. Heidi, and Burn.
"Heidi, you can finally meet Nami. And Burn this is Nami. She knows our secret, but she is helping to keep it." I tensed ready to deflect any danger. I trusted Burn but one could never know how someone would react from shock.
She was here! Why?!? And since when had Craven become so bold.... Dragging that human over here. He looked like he was expecting Burn to hit him. Huh. He deserved it. What he should be worried about was me. Here was the girl. Finally in my grasp. She wasn't even pretty. I folded my arms across my chest and glared up at her. Sadly, she was taller.
