THE BRAIN; Nickname; Inu How did you find us? ...
THE BEAST; Calling; Sebastian Robin Yale Age; 17 Gender; Male Species; Human Appearance; Sebastian is the sort of person that seems rather nondescript at the first glance. To those who bother to look again, he appears more interesting. Although rather on the tall side, he often slouches about. He has pale, creamy skin, that absolutely will not tan under any circumstances, and a mop of black hair. His clear, blue eyes contrast with these extreme light and dark features, although they are somewhat obscured by thick, black glasses. His build is fairly lean, and he is beginning to overcome the tall, thin, awkwardness that has plagued him since the seventh grade. However, his hands, feet, and ears are still too big for him (the latter is quite covered by his hair, though).
His appearance is always neat and clean, mostly because his mother insists on scrubbing behind ears and ironing shirts. He favours plain tee shirts in muted shades of moss, cherry, sky, mustard, or black. He also wears knitted sweaters in darker shades, many of which were made by his mother, or kindly Aunties. His mother would like him to wear khakis or black pants, but he only humours her with these on Sundayts, preferring jeans the rest of the week if he can manage it. He never wears shorts if he can help it, due to his legs being skinnier and paler than the rest of him, and of course, due to the bad memories he has of gym class.
Personality; Sebastian does not fit in. Actually, this can probably be said for a lot of highschoolers, if not the majority. What really sets him apart from the rest is that he doesn't try to fit in. Not that it would work out if he did - he just isn't popular material. But he has honestly stopped caring about being with the cool kids, and has begun to relax a little and enjoy time with his close friends. It still bothers him when people make fun of him, of course, but he isn't as much of an entertaining target as he was in elementary school. He takes it in his stride in public, and waits to be alone before he allows it to trouble him.
Despite this slight rebellion, however, Sebastian is not a leader. He is a follower by heart, which is a good thing for his mother, or she would never have gotten her way in anything. As it is, she rules him pretty well, except for the odd situation in which he puts his foot down (such as her wishing to banish his friends). It has taken years for him to stand up to her, and he finds it almost as difficult to stand up to other people.
In general, he is a rather nondescript sort of person. He is neither terribly shy, nor very outgoing. He does not have any hobbies that particularly overshadow everything else, except possibly reading. His mother wanted him to be a well-rounded fellow, so she didn't allow him to spend too much time on anything in particular as a child, so he has trouble developing his interests. He does enjoy working in the light/sound booth in the school's theatre, however, and so far this is about the only thing close to a passion of his.
Although he does not seem very interesting, Sebastian is a very valuable friend in the long run. Loyalty is his middle name, and he will stand by anyone who he deems a friend. He also makes an excellent rock to fall back on, which everyone needs in their friendship web. He will never fail to be there for a friend who needs somebody. He is thus worth his weight in gold, even if he doesn't make a shiny ornament.
History; The world is full of people who are under the impression that somebody else controls their lives. Maybe somebody does, but most of the time, it is simply the person's fault for not standing up to their problems. Sebastian is one of these people. His mother has controlled his every move since he was a baby, and his father died of an illness. She didn't want her son to come to the same fate, and has protected him with a sharp eye since. His mother can often be found obsessively cleaning, and making sure that their house and bodies are the absolute picture of good hygiene. Sebastian himself couldn't really care less, although his mother seems to be under the impression that germs are the root of all evil.
Thus, Sebastian grew into a child, trying to be reasonably normal, despite his mother's strange ideals. She wanted to be homeschooled, but during grade six, he finally put his foot down. It was stressing him out to be under her supervision for about five hours each day, for although she was very insistent that he complete his work, she was sadly uninformed about certain things that he needed to complete. She hadn't gone to school herself for some time, and wasn't very good at teaching. Sebastian spent as much time as possible reading, which he enjoyed, and was a smart little bugger despite his mother's lack of assistance. However, as he drew close to his preteen years, he found that he wanted to brave bullies, popular kids, smarter nerds, and all the rest in favour of a proper education. Besides, he didn't know anyone else who was homeschooled in Lamdon, and it just wasn't normal. Like many children, the word 'normal' was holy to him, and he wanted to embody it more than anything.
His mother didn't like it at first, but relented in time for grade seven, despite her many doubts about the cleanliness of Lamdon's public school. She had a lengthy word with the principal and the lady who was likely to be Sebastian's teacher. Poor Sebastian had to sit through her telling these people very forcefully just how smart, and special, and important he was, and how they'd better give him a good education. Deep down, he appreciated some of the things his mother had said about his importance, but he wished that she hadn't said them so loudly for his future classmates to hear.
In any case, Sebastian entered the public school system, where he has remained ever since. It was only upon entering Lamdon High, however, that he formed a close group of friends. Their names were Feather and Amshell, and they soon became the plague of his mother's household, as she put it. She disliked Feather because she was rather touchy-feely and dressed oddly; Amshell wasn't welcome because he insisted on being known by his surname and played awful video games too much. Sebastian, on the other hand, was very happy with his misfit friends, and they gave him a little spark of confidence to stand up to his mother on certain occasions. He also found an interest in one of the clubs at school - drama. Not acting, no, but managing light and sound in the booth behind the audience. He liked knowing that people depended on him, yet the safe feeling of not being in the spotlight.
