THE BRAIN;
Nickname; Inu
How did you find us? I madeth thee
THE BEAST;
Calling; Achille Vito Scarsi
Age; 27
Gender; Male
Species; Human
Appearance;
The first thing that most people notice about Achille is that he is on the tall side, at a few inches over six feet. He is also rather on the muscular side, at around two hundred pounds, give or take. Some people take a little while to get over this. In particular, Achille has noted that it is unwise to sneak up on people, especially people who look as if they might easily have a mild heart attack. Really it isn't that big of a deal, at least not to him, but many people who are rather more preoccupied on appearances would disagree. Young bucks especially seem to look upon him with an odd mixture of awe and jealousy that he finds rather amusing. He knows that he can be a rather menacing figure sometimes, especially at the end of a busy day, covered in schmutz and grime and grease and sweat, and hardly looking like a civilized ape ought.
When he is in a state of reasonable cleanliness, however, Achille is rather handsome. Although reasonably light skinned, he tans very well in the warm months, especially since he doesn't like to keep indoors for long, unless he is inspired by a particularly interesting invention. He has medium-length, honey-brown hair that tends to stick up in different directions, and plenty of stubble and scruffy shadow along his jaw. He isn't particularly fussed about looking clean and presentable; in fact, he rather takes pride in his ability to look unwashed, uncombed and sloppy, yet manly, all at once. And his perfect Italian speech and accent doesn't hurt either.
Achille is similarly unconcerned about his attire, mainly because it could very well be irrevocably stained by the end of any normal day. He pulls on whatever tees, tanks, jeans, sweatpants, or anything mildly decent and comfortable that he can find. He is very fond of sports, although he spends more time watching them on the telly than playing them nowadays. However, it can hardly be said that his job of repairing cars and building secret weapons is easy, and this, coupled with an everlasting energy for runs and romps with his dog, prevent him from the dreaded beer belly. Besides, despite his scraggy appearance, Achille has a taste for the finer things in life, including good wine, and home-cooked meals.
Personality;
Achille's first priority is to enjoy life. If he isn't having fun, he decides to do something else. Luckily, he considers both of his jobs heaps of fun, and therefore does get some work done occasionally. He smiles and hugs people a lot, which gets on many nerves, but he doesn't care. He is extremely hospitable, especially to his relations, no matter how remote. No one is allowed to enter his home without stopping for a meal. He is also very gentlemanly, and has excellent manners. He seems perfectly laidback about nearly everything, but this is not always true. Like his two jobs, Achille also has two identities that he has learned to blend seamlessly.
Logically, a carefree soul such as himself cannot be as successful in the sort of way that he has been. His job as a weaponmaker for immortal slayers requires attention to detail, discretion, and skill. Achille is very business-savvy, and more than that, he is also cunning. He is a master of deal-making, and is not above a little trickery for some extra cash. Hey, his customers often stay for a glass of wine and some ciabatta bread, so why shouldn't he con a little money out of them to recompensate himself? His deep love of little luxuries in terms of food and other things tend to manipulate his conscience a little bit. For the most part, however, he is a reasonably honest sort of person, and his work is certainly high quality (besides, how many other weaponmakers are there to choose from?).
Despite a few little flaws, Achille is a pretty good guy to have around, especially if one ever needs intimidating-looking backup, top quality weaponry, or new tires on their car. Or even just a piece of pizza and cheerful company.
History;
Achille was born in Italy. His father repaired racecars, his mother watched over the children and made vast amounts of tomato sauce, while he and his siblings got into all sorts of scrapes. Achille was the middle child of five, and became his father's second apprentice. His eldest brother was, of course, heir to the family business, and luckily very interested in auto repairs. Achille, however, was equally fascinated with this task, and once Antonio was well on his way, their father taught him the ropes as well, thinking he would help his brother out.
However, Achille was a less obedient soul, and didn't want to go into the family business for the simple reason that everybody assumed this was what he would do. Instead, he travelled his country working at the odd shop here and there, gaining experience and seeing his homeland. During his travels, he met a strange man named Heron. Achille wasn't sure if this was a fake name, a first name, or a surname, and Heron never enlightened him of the fact. He was simply Heron. Achille was intrigued by the mysterious fellow, and although he didn't show it, Heron saw potential in the young lad. They formed an odd sorcerer and apprentice relationship, although Achille never knew that he was being taught much of anything.
They travelled together, Achille carrying on with his odd jobs in the auto industry, and Heron appearing to do nothing, although he often seemed rather tired out when they met at the end of the day. Heron was also suspiciously eager to travel far away from Italy, where he had only stayed a day or two. Wanting to see the world, Achille did not object, although he thought it odd. After a few months of secretly testing the fellow, who was rather naive at that time, Heron finally revealed his secret. Actually, it was a bit of an accident that brought about this event, for Heron was not the kind of man who tolod secrets without reason. Achille had discovered that the oddly shaped belongings he carried with him at all times were, in fact, two swords and a flame thrower. Heron eventually explained that he was a vampire hunter, which would have been very difficult to believe, except for the fact that Achille had been suspecting something of this for awhile. Not that he had thought vapire hunter exactly, but he had figured that Heron was a mercenary of some sort judging by his endless caution and mystery.
Seeing that he did not have a freaked out young buck on his hands to kill, Heron instead began to train the boy in the art of hunting their immortal enemies. He explained that Italy was the most dangerous place to be on the earth for vampires and humans (slayer or not) alike. Achille thought that this was rather grim, but was rather glad to be out of his country nonetheless. He was quite intrigued by the slayer's life, despite the danger, and Heron found him a reasonable ally. He had to admit that the boy's sheer strength, though nothing on a vampire's, was quite helpful sometimes. However, he was careful to teach Achille techniques that would make him a clever opponent as well.
Although Achille enjoyed this new life, he still longed to work with his first love, machinery. Heron saw this, and soon concluded a perfect career for the young boy, after Achille had inquired where he got his weapons. Heron said that there were barely a hundred weaponmakers in the world, and that it was especially difficult to find a really good one. Achille was instantly fascinated, and Heron took him to some of his favourite craftsmen in Sweden, Belgium, Romania, and Ireland, respectively. However, he knew next to nothing of weaponmakers across the ocean, and eventually Achille decided to set up shop over there under the cover of an auto repairman.
He came to Lamdon two years ago, drawn by the interestingly high vampire population there. He soon discovered that Heron didn't tell him all his secrets after all, and that there were werewolves in the immortal mix as well. He still keeps in touch with his mentor, and finds fairly good business in the area. He might just have settled down for good.
