Jayden walked down the from an alleyway leading onto the street. She was bored, and looking for something fun to do. She doesn't hunt someone unless the give a good fight, and frankly, she hasn't been able to find anyone like that for a few days. Her thirst was beginning to get the better of her, and if she didn't know any better, she would have probably taken the first person she saw, and killed them right there on the sidewalk.
As she continued to walk, she came across an old homeless man, begging for some change, so that he might buy some food. "He won't need money, when I'm done with him. He won't need anything because he won't even have a heartbeat when I am through."
Jayden stopped not too far from this old man, and leaned on a light post. She pulled out one of her daggers and began to flip it in her hands. That night there were a lot of cars passing by on that street, so she was attempting to sheild and suspison that they might have from her having a dagger in her hands and not actually using it.
"Do you have any change to spare kind maiden?" The old man asked finally in a raspy voice. When Jayden looked over, she saw a sad attempt of a smile, rags for clothes, holes in his shoes that made them look like sandals, and a old dirty hat atop his head.
She walked over to him, slowly, and spoke softly. "Come with me. I'll get you some knew clothes, and you can wash up some. People might be more apt to give you money if you look like a little better." She continued to walk, and when she heard his feet clank on the ground, a smile creeped up on her. She led him to a deadend alley way that she saw as she walked. She stopped and turned around to look at him.
The old man started shaking his head, and whispering "No, please don't take me away." If only I was having some mercy this evening. I might actually listen to his cries, Jayden thought as she looked at him pleading for me not to take his life.
"Now, I can keep you alive, I might not. I can make you suffer far worse than most of my kind. See, I control the elements. I control air, I can take it all away from you and then smother you with it before, during, and after the painful process. If you cooperate, I think I might let it be as painless as possible, or without cooperation would result in what I just warned you I would do."
The old man was frozen where he was in shock. He knew his end has come, and he knew that it would come from Jayden, but in his mind he was pleading to God to let him live, even if that meant he would still have to beg for money to buy some food. "Take me as you wish, I will not fight you, nor do I intend to. I am at your service," he answered her shakily. He dropped to his knees, and leaned his head diagonally, showing of the veins pulsing in his neck.
Jayden's mouth began to water as she saw the faint lines of veins pulsing through his cream colored skin. She walked towards him, knelt in front of him, and whispered, "I'm sorry," before sinking her fangs into his neck.
When she was finished, there was blood trickling down from her mouth. She wiped her chin with the back of her alabaster hand, ten licked off the blood from her hand. "It tasted too good for it to come from and old man," she murmured to herself as she walked back onto the street's sidewalk, where her dark brown eyes would shimmer as she smiled to a person who she might happen to come across and possibly say, "hi" to her.

Lukas had no point in doing anything at the moment. He wasn't sure where Heather went, although he was hoping that she wasn't...hunting...It was difficult, now. She was a vampire, and he still hated vampires. He wouldn't hurt her, but other vampires? He wasn't sure whether she cared about other vampires or not. It confused him a lot. A fowl smell floated around towards him, coming from a building nearby, and Lukas couldn't concentrate anymore. It was so strong that he couldn't even tell what the smell was. He walked down the pathway, hands in his pockets, attempting to ignore the smell and failing. He was so out of it that he almost bumped into someone. He stopped walking, took a deep breath, and was attacked by the taste of the smell in his mouth. He coughed, choking on the smell - why'd did he have to have such good senses? "Euch." He said to himself. Disgusting, whatever it is. He felt something in his pocket, and pulled it out. It was a chain necklace - one he'd always wear as a human, and even as a wolf. He clipped it around his neck, forgetting why he took it off. The air around him stilll stank, so he continued to walk into the night, hoping to get away from it.

As Jayden walked back onto the street she bumped into this tall guy--really tall--with shoulder length dark hair. She wasn't sure if it was just her sight giving her problems, but when she looked at his hair, she saw black streaks. They weren't all that noticeable, but they were there.
Jayden yelled, "Watch it!" reluctantly, before she actually saw him. When he just kept walking, at a fast pace, and got in front of him, blocking his path. "What? You're not going to say 'sorry'? Nothing like that?" She asked in an annoyed tone. When she looked up, she automatically regretted it. When she saw his gorgeous gray/blue eyes looking down on her, she started studdering her apology to him. "I uh, I um, I am uh, sorry. About that back there," she said pointing to where the alley met with the sidewalk. "I didn't mean to yell at you like that."
She was blushing right now for her little screw up. She hated it when she would go weak just looking at a guy who she never thought in a million years she would see, let alone meet. To try and hide her embarrassment, she tried to cover her face with her long brown hair, but when she pointed her face down to the ground, and only small strands of hair came down, she remembered that she tied her hair back in a braid because she was going hunting and she didn't want her hair to get in the way.

Lukas looked at the girl now, confused. What was that about? He looked over at the pathway where he just walked by, and remembered that he bumped into someone. Must've been her. He had barely noticed her shouting, though. He brused his hair behind his ear and looked at her properly. "No, I'm sorry. I should've been looking where I was going." He looked upwards, unsure of what to do now, and blinked in the bright light of a streetlamp. He looked back down at the girl, blinking, trying to refocus his eyes. When he could see properly he noticed that the girl was quite a bit shorter than him, and that she was...blushing? His eyes widened in amazement. He had just made a girl...blush. He'd never made a girl blush before, except maybe for Heather. And Heather was the only one who he wanted to make blush. Lukas noticed that the girl was attempting to hide her face behind her hair, but couldn't, because her hair was tied back into a braid. He took his hands out of his pockets and held out his hand to the girl, meaning to get a handshake. "I'm Lukas." It was a cold afternoon, so even though his hand was super-werewolf-warm, he could feel a slight chill of the air.

Jayden took his hand and shook it. She regretted doing it the minute their hands touched. She was a vampire which meant that she was ice cold, and from what she knew, he was human, and hot to her touch. His hand was a little warmer than a normal human's should be, but she just shook it off because some people that she has fed off of, even being perfectly healthy, were exceptionally hot to her touch.
"Jayden," she said with a with a small relieving smile. He seems nice enough. I could say that he would be a perfect person for me to feed off of because he would be a perfect candidate that would put up a fight, but I already fed, and I don't think I would want to, she thought as they shook a little more.
"So why are you out here anyway? These are the deserted streets of Lamdon, where the homeless sleep, I'm surprised anyone is on these streets at night," she said casually. She hoped that he would answer and leave it at that, not ask her the same question. She hated lying and hated it even more when she had to do it to someone that's nice, well, someone that is at least well-mannered.

When she took his hands he noticed that she was extremely cold. He withdrew his hand quickly, and put it inside his pocket, shivering slightly. He looked down at her suspiciously. She's so...cold. Oh. He thought to himself. Right, my hands extremely warm, so of course normal cold hands are going to feel really cold... He still looked at her carefully. He hadn't touched anyone in a long time, except Heather and other werewolves, so he didn't know what normal humans' skin was like. Jayden. That was her name. She was silent for a moment, before she asked him a question. "I could ask the same of you." His eyes narrowed. That was a good point. What was she, a pretty lady, doing wondering around dangerous streets at night? He answered her question anyway, after a moment of silence. "I'm just taking a walk." With that, he turned away from her, and continued on his walk.

"As am I, only on different terms," Jayden said quietly as Lukas walked away, she's surprised she even heard it. She didn't want him to leave. He was the only real person that she talked to in ages that she has not, or did not want, to kill and drink their hot, sweet blood. She didn't know why either. She thought it might be the smell that was turning her stomach inside and out, but she doubted it. Why would a smell change her habits anyway?
Jayden wanted to run up to Lukas as he was walking away from her, and tell him not to leave, but there were two things stopping her. One, she was too shy for her own good; she only found confidence when she was hungry or when she had one of her blades in her hands. And two, she barely knew Lukas, and didn't know how he would react to her if she did that. She didn't want him thinking she was this psycho or anything. Yes, she had the power of controlling the elements, they were like a second nature to her, but people, now that was a hard one for her. It's been a hard one for her ever since she was turned into a vampire, and now she's faced with a guy whom she wants a friendship to bloom with, and she doesn't even know how to act.

Lukas was walking when Jadyn quietly said something. He kept walking, but each step he took was slower than the last, until he had come to a complete stop. He looked forward, the street long before him, the night still dark, the sun no where near rising. He wondered for a moment why he stopped, then remembered, and turned around. He was a good few feet away from Jadyn.
"What did you say?" He asked, his voice carried in the wind, sounding loud in the quiet Lamdon night. He wasn't sure if he cared, but he was curious. And this girl - she appealed to him, in a way. She was interesting, and unknown, and different to most humans he had met. He was tired, and he didn't realise that she was very different, more different then he could know while his senses weren't working well.
He realised that he wanted a friend. He hadn't had a friend in a long time - ever since Heather left, and was lost, he cut himself off from everyone, desperate to keep to himself and mourn. It wasn't a good idea, nor had it done him any good, but no one wanted to dissagree with a mourning werewolf. How strange it was to be natural enemies with the one you loved. He looked at Jayden properly, and realised that there was something about her so similar to Heather that he just wanted to get to know her.
Yet he didn't realise how similar Jayden and Heather actually were.

"The reason I am here, it's the same as you. Only on reasons you would not wish to hear," Jayden answered. She was surprised when he stopped, and asked her what she had said. Usually if she said something as quiet as a mumble, people just shook it off, and she liked that someone actually would pay attention to the little details. Usually those were the most important things. They could change the big picture, that little stroke. It could make a smile turn into a frown with a flick of a wrist, or in this case the flick of the mouth.
She walked toward Lukas feeling a little more confident, leaving only two feet between them. "Hey, Lukas? There's a little coffee shop a down the street that's kind of nice. Well, nicer than this," she swung her arm, showing off the street and it's trashiness. "How about we go there, and I treat you to some coffee. I have a feeling neither of us will be getting some sleep for a while, and we might as well enjoy it while we can right? How about we go over?" It wouldn't have been much of an expense anyway. The coffee for both of them would come out to ten dollars max, and that would be it, though Jayden thought that was a rip off because although it wasn't a coffee shop that was up to par with the others in Lamdon, it did serve some of the best coffee in town.

Lukas smiled at Jayden and said "Sure, I'd love to." He started to walk down the street, beside Jayden, still smiling. It was nice just being socialble. The tragedy in his life was practically over. Heather was back. Even though she was a vampire, she was back. The only bad thing left in his life now was the fact that he had major enemies, vampires, but that was something he could learn to live with. Thinking about his hatred for vampires made him cringe, and he thought that he could almost smell the disgusting smell of a vampire.
Actually, he was sure he could smell a vampire, now that the other disgusting smell was gone. A quiet growl rumbled in his throat, and he looked around, wondering where this vampire was.
And he realised that she was right next to her.
He stepped away from Jayden, looking at her, shocked. "Jayden..." What was wrong with him? First, he fell in love with a human who turned into a vampire. Then, he gets aquainted with a vampire without realising it. He shook his head slowly. "You're a vampire?!"
She was probably planning to attack him. She was probably tricking him. Never trust a vampire. And he had just talked to one, had just followed one.
This is fucked up. This can't be right. This is so INFURIATING. I just wanted a friend. And I found a vampire.

Jayden smiled up at Lukas happily. She knew she would come with her, but still had doubted it in the back of her mind. I shouldn't be so quick to judge, Jayden thought as Lukas stepped away from her.
When he asked if she was a vampire, she put her head down in shame. For once in her life she felt like she could be human again, even though she was with a stranger. Although that's how it should have been, being able to feel human again with someone because they are strangers to you, they don't know what you really are.
"Yes. Yes, it's sure. I am a--" Jayden was practically choking on the word "vampire" but finally she said it, "vampire." She looked up at him when she said the last word, and in his eyes, she saw that he looked scared, (though she could have been wrong with this one as she so often is) betrayed, and worst of all, and the one that was a shot to the heart for Jayden was hatred. She saw hatred like two arch enemies being forced into the same room together and not being able to fight each other.
No, no, no. I can't be. No I won't let it be true, she thought as she began putting the pieces together. The stench that never really seemed to fade, his height, the way he walked...and the look in his eyes. He was a werewolf, and she was a vampire, and just a moment ago they were walking side by side.
"Before you get ahead of yourself here, and ask me why I didn't tell you, or why I have didn't sink my teeth into your neck, let me say this. Yes, you just figured it out--and so have I--that we are sworn enemies now. Yet here we stand only a foot away and we haven't ripped each other to thread yet, I think that counts for something. I'm not one to be the optimistic in a situation, so just listen." She grabbed him at the elbows as he started to walk away. "Listen to me, and don't walk away. I am just as strong as you are, if not stronger, and I have the power to control the elements, and I have a lot of blades on me right now. If I wanted to kill you I would have told you I was a long time ago, and you would probably be dead right now. So just stay still!
"As I was saying, being sworn enemies and not killing each other right here--right now--counts for something. And we both have had a little run in with a little bit of vampires here and werewolves there because I can see it in your eyes. Your eyes are what is giving you away right now in this little facade you have put up." She let go of him. She didn't like having the feeling of keeping him against his will, and since she was hoping she wasn't going to kill him, there was no reason to keep him anyway.
"Just listen to what I just said, please. Just listen," she added softly, with a little hopefulness in her voice. If he was going to leave, he would leave then, and then she would just pass him after that with just a look, though they would want to kill each other, she wouldn't do it. Something was stopping her from doing it to him right now, she wasn't sure what, all she knew was that something was stopping her.

He was confused, very confused, but Lukas listened to her. And he watched her. Once she was silent, he walked up to her and held her hand softly.
"Jayden. We can...be friends. I guess. It will be hard, especially since I have other friends who'd want to kill you, but..." He smiled slightly at her. "I can live with it. The one I love..." He paused, his throat getting tight. Heather. "She is a vampire, too. If I can love a vampire, I can...be your friend." His eyes narrowed in concentration. "It'll just...take some getting used to."
"Right now, I feel as if I want to kill you. But that's instinct, and I'm not always going to trust my instinct. I feel that I would get pleasure out of seeing you die, out of killing you, and I know it's horrible but it's true. But I don't want to, because, even though I've only known you for about ten minutes, I think we'd make great friends. And even though I don't think it'll be easy, I can manage. If you say you can, and if you aren't going to kill me...then we can be friends."
"But..." He paused again, breathing deeply. "If you ever hurt anyone I know, and even try to hurt or kill me, I will kill you. Know that now, and know it well, vampire." The word rolled off his tongue harshly. "If you are tricking me in order to kill me it won't work. I have friends that will finish you off if you ever harm me." It was just a warning, a threat, just in case she was really evil.
But what she had said had convinced Lukas that she wasn't, that she knew exactly how he felt right before, because she had too.

"I would not dream of doing anything such," she said with a half smile. "And the warning goes out to you too, my friend. Plus, I may not have as many friends as you, but one of which is also very powerful, so I think she compensates for the lack of quantity."
She tried to change the mood, to a little lighter subject. Yes, they were officially friends, and yes, they didn't care about each others species, so why not make the mood a bit lighter at a time like this. "Still up for the coffee? Again, my treat."
Jayden took her hands out of Lukas's and said happily, and with a smile, "C'mon let's go. We aren't going to get anywhere this friendship thing if we don't embrace it. So let's go because I still think we won't be sleeping any time soon, and from what happened just two seconds ago, I'm a bit wired, so I just want to fire that part right up."
